Today we see the perfect argument for coming up with a better naming convention for Comet releases.

The current client version 3.69 includes a new client side server 6.06. 6.06 contains the fix to the extract bug. If this is not installed on the workstation then the user could have corruption on local C type directories.

When I asked the question if there was a reason in 3.69 to do a workstation install, I was told that no new .dll files were added so it should not be necessary. We should not need to guess at an install, it should be clear in the version if anything in the package has changed that is not delivered by COMET.EXE to the workstation.

I suggest you change the versions to ver.x.y where ver is the major release, x is a change that requires a workstation install and y as the need only to update the executables only.

On the same topic, I still want to know why I need to do a hundred workstation installs, under the Comet Anywhere system we can deliver the new client, why can't that happen in the local environment.

As far as I am concerned, I would just want the user to fire up the client, tell them to please wait while I update your client and then go on.

It will take me 3 days to complete the workstation installs here.
