A control file for DocMgr is created on "COS". It is an extended keyed file so "COS" must be a type "C" directory. You would get the error message you got if either you didn't have "COS" accessed or you are running a version of Comet older than 2005 which is required to open extended keyed files.
To change the color scheme, try running CWCOLOR from READY. Choose "Windows Colors".
