I don't have any production systems on vmware, but do use vmworkstation. Awsome program while doing development work and you don't like spending hours looking for clean (not required) hardware. vmworkstation is just the entry level version of product. The other higher end versions (esx and gsx) even allow you to move machines between hardware systems (ie. you have two vmservers hosting your systems). One day, you decide to take hardware out, so you move all the vm-machines to the other host system (live real time) and deal with the hardware. Real high end stuff when you don't want any down time. Recently, I've been looking at other OS's and it's really nice when you can just pull a high end P4 out (ie. vmworkstation) and test drive the OS (vmware site even has preloaded os's - linux's allready to be downloaded and used). In all the years I've seen software come and go, this is a keeper.
