AutoInput is a slick replacement for forced transmit. You can retrieve info from anywhere on the screen if you know where it is. I can think of retrieving fields one at a time in order to validate them. The program may display various fields, allow the user to modify any or all of them and when the user signals she is finished, the program can retrieve all of the fields in whatever order it wants them.

This statement just acknowledges that the "screen" is just a piece of memory somewhere that may be displayed as a window. It is not a peripheral like terminals used to be.
