I think you are misunderstanding Marc. He is suggesting you turn OFF the XP Firewall completely, and then test the COMET Anywhere connection.
It's been my experience and everyone else that I have talked to, that the XP Firewall is (politely put) crap. Setting up exceptions involves a LOT of work, and rarely works the way one would expect it to work. Just my humble opinion.
