woohoo. glad it worked.
out of ~30 workstations, this happens to at least 1 machine (at random) every 3 months or so. it appears as though the ini gets overwritten by garbage.
not sure what causes it (user error, unrelated windows crash, comet problems), but removing the ini always fixes it.
