Let me shoot for the obvious. Are you doing a path into a variable? Is the variable long enough for the bigger bath? and if you are concatenating, are you stripping the path before the concatenating? I use the copyfile under cfam all the time both in full comet and cometanywhere mode with no problems other than the getdiralias issue.
