copy files to newly created sub-folder

Something new for us. Would like to automate the Creation of a sub-folder, with a name that is furnished, and then copy a range of files/programs from what we call the main folder to the newly created sub-folder(backup). The newly created sub-folder does not need to be created as a comet directory.
