Why don't the Directory Aliases work with the DOS function calls?
I am stuck with a bank that returns credit card authorisations in a file with a name of 51 characters!! I have to use this with DOS function that have a limit of 60 characters for pathname+filename.
I can scan the incoming folder using the DOS function to find the files using Directory Aliases but simply cannot use the Alias to get the SHORT FILE NAME (pseudo Function FFF2) nor can I open it with the DOS OPEN.
Is there other ways to get to my DOS files so I can process these transactions ?
