It will use RAM if you have one. This program was written back in the days when we used to use RAM. If you don't have RAM, it will create the file in the folder associated with the spool. So, something else was wrong. Are you sure the pathname for the spool folder is exactly the same in both the SPOOLERS and DIRECTORIES sections of the configuration file?
