You put a one line request onto the forum. I was hoping that you would have posted a message outlining the previous problems so that maybe someone else in the community would help.

We are very busy at this time. I do not think I can spare Brian for even half of a day. This may continue for the next month. After that time maybe.
I am sorry, but I have to balance the expense of this kind of thing with the expected return, and my perception is that you may purchase one ODBC if your issues are cleared up. The effort to fix these issues is not trivial in my mind.

Your date issue will probably remain an issue. Comet deals with strings or unpacked decimal numbers only. In this case I recon that you want a re-design of the product or an additional feature.

Maybe it would be best for you to look seriously at the CometLib COM Server product which we are about to release. It will allow a single program to have access both to the Oracle server and comet files simultaneously.

Subject: Status of ODBC

You ask to post to the forum for questions but no one answered.

I would like to get back into the ODBC connectivity issues we discussed
several months ago, I have several applications for integration with my
Oracle server.

The two main issues are:

1. Long setup time, why does it take so long to get a response, about 10
times longer than other ODBC tools I use (i.e. SQLTALK).

2. Dates, we still are not clear on the formatting of dates, NULL fields are
returned with erroneous data and the format of dates is inconsistent.

I provided Brian with connectivity to my server and a sample program I wrote
to process SQL requests via Comet. What do we need to do to get this on the
table again.

I will need a license again for the ODBC and I will retest, then I need some
commitment that you can have Brian work with me on this. I think your
close, I just think we need some tweaking.
