employee department record with hundreds of numeric fields and you want to build a new record. Using the file format label with a read to the user's buffer, init all numeric fields to zero and leave any string fields alone (don't load em'... This would sure beat typing out tons of numeric fields like PDAMTYR=0, ETC, ETC, ETC... source line after source line after source line... For now, will make up a new label with just numeric fields, write 1024 spaces to user buffer and read back with this new label.. How big can the user buffer be??
