I think he means a double conversion of your DOC file. First to postscript and then to TIFF. Then fax the TIFF.

My problem with the CometFax was getting it started. It had to be monitored for lockups. Never got a clue on that. Usually took a reboot to get the PC and modem to properly reset.

My customer, a freight handler, wanted to fax out notifications as shipments processed through key points in their Comet system. The fax was just a cover page. I painstaking built a header with their logo and boilerplate info using Win95FaxCover (works in XP). I made the notes section as large as possible so it would hold their biggest notification.

They sent hundreds of faxes a week and it worked well except for the occassional lockup.
