if you're forced to contend with this sort of thing, check out 'spybot' and 'windows defender'. both will remove this sort of nonsense; defender will try to prevent it from ever happening in the first place.
there's also 'spyware blaster', which will restrict malicious websites that attempt this sort of thing.
in other news, still no cure for people who click "ok" on every dialog box.
