I encountered this error this week. I have this program that I changed to accept Text files as input (on top of existing Keyed files). At the end of the process, this program DELETEs the input transaction in both the input file and the intermediate sort file (for restart capabilities).

When processing from a TEXT file I get the CometServe error 9A. The program uses an error trap, but a 9A is a non-masquable error... so my program goes El-Kaboum !

Shouldn't CometServe return an 'Excp 53 - Invalid File Access' or something similar? An 'Error in Key Tree' for a Text file is unlikely. The error actually sent me down wory lane... Sounded more like corrupted data on my server. I had to trace a very long program (154 pages) to figure this one out.
