PDF Systems also has a document imaging program. A brief explanation follows:

All Order Entry Operators have a small Dymo Label Printer attached to their workstations. The printer is loaded with sticky labels. Upon completion of entering an order, the order number is printed on a label in text and as a bar code. The label is then attached to the back of the customers purchase order. There is an option to print multiple labels.

PDF has created a Scan Program that runs off a Linux Server (not a Comet program). Customer Purchase Orders are loaded into a scanner, the scan program is launched and each customers purchase order is scanned front and back. An image of the customers purchase order is saved in a MYSQL database on the Linux server under the order number. I believe the capacity of the largest scanner our client’s use is 100 sheets.

Our clients that use our scanning module scan between 30,000 and 40,000 documents a year.

Our Order Inquiry program has been modified to display images. The operator selects the order # and an HTML Page launches that displays the date of all scanned images pertaining to the order. When the operator clicks on a date the image associated with the date is displayed on their PC (I believe the image is displayed as an Adobe PDF document).

Our Scan program can also scan Customer Resale Certificates and Credit Applications. These documents are stored on the Linux Server and can be recalled in Customer Maintenance and A/R Inquiry.

All PDF generated documents (order acknowledgements, invoices, picking tickets, A/R Statements, etc) are saved on the Linux Server as a PDF Adobe File. Images of the documents are displayed from the Order Inquiry and the A/R Inquiry program.
