Hmm, is their a "standard" for fax servers like there is SMTP for email?
If there is could you point me to where the specs are?

We currently use RightFax for our FAX server.

Comet Programs are modified to output to a text file the text of the document.
Each document TYPE (i.e. Invoice, Purchase Order, etc) goes into their own windows folder.
Each document has commands at the top to specify fax numbers and or email address and other items.

We have a Windows program monitoring those folders looking for documents to process.
When found it overlays the text on a blank form, turns the document into a TIFF image and passes the document to Rightfax in the proper format for RightFax to Process. (This Windows Program could also send the document as an attachment on an email)

When requested the Comet system will get the status of the sent faxes from the Rightfax server and updates the Comet fax management program with the fax status info.

I know this is a bit convoluted process, but it was the best we could do in the Q-world and did not want to reinvent it for Comet.
This process should probably be updated to use PDF files and to work with the Comet (non-RAW) print method.
