I think this is the situation.
All the Comet server software is 32 bit and will work on a "64 bit CPU/64 bit O/S" server.
Comet Workstation still contains 16 bit parts and will not work in the 64/64 scenario. It will work in 64/32.
When Small Business Server (200?) (Longhorn) comes out, I will need to upgrade to a 64/64 server because Exchange 2007 requires 64/64.
I currently run Comet Workstation on my SBS2003 (32/32) server for CAW and XAP. If Comet Workstation is still incompatible, then I'll have to move CAW and XAP to a 32/32 or 64/32 workstation.
If a Comet user buys a 64/64 workstation without consulting me, I'm screwed :(
And speaking of being screwed. Just read a newletter by a prominent Windows expert and author. He bought a 64/64 Vista Ultimate system from HP with lots of memory. He didn't state the exact amount. At least 4GB and probably more. HP doesn't have the drivers necessary to support more than 2.9GB, don't know when they will, and HP Tech Support didn't know that you could buy a Vista PC with more than 2GB.
