Configuring a network printer in Comet.ini

Is it possible to use the IP address of a printer in lieu of the printer name in the Comet.ini file, since many times the users are not consistant in setting up the printer with the same exact name from PC to PC? Also, some o/s's add the "on xxxxxxx" where xxxxxx is the name of the hosting PC/print server. Any help would be appriciated.
