on certain Novell installations. I'd get a call from an end-user with error 46's. Would connect up and look at the file in Maint and sure enough there would be large blocks of records with hex 00. This ALWAYS wound up being a caching
problem - in other words the cached up key pointers were pointing to data blocks with nothing in them. A reboot of the
server would clear the cache and voila, the file was whole again. The data didn't go missing, it simply wasn't being pointed to properly. Don't know if you have the same issue here, but I'd try rebooting the server and checking the file again. Never got a resolution to the Novell issue, but I did get rid of all Novell servers at end-users ;^}
