Very similiar situation. On our in-house network, running Comet Security Server 7.01, Database 7.01, & Comet2007 380. Recently had to add another Directory. Generally this system is very stable and we do not add new directories. Anyway, working from a workstation(WinXP/PRO), created Directory, Changed the INI, Recompiled INI, shutdown Comet on workstation and Restarted Comet. NO Exception message(no QDIR) came up when Comet got restarted, thought strange. Was able to get to the READY prompt/Utilities and run Q/45 option. Restarted Comet, no exception message(would not expect it this time). We are running Security Monitor. Entered a Password that had access to the New Directory, the New Directory did NOT SHOW. Exited out of Comet and Restarted Comet, this time Mouse Clicked on the "Detail" tab during startup, the New Directory "SHOWED" on the list of Directories. But once again when I entered the Password and displayed the "accessed" directories, the New Directory was not listed. Finally out of desperation decided to RE-BOOT the Server. All was corrected.
