Yes, I was aware of this solution. Even though this is only a couple of lines of code, this code would need to be added to each application program, that is effected. Granted not a huge coding issue, but could escalate into a big/busy project.
Where this whole "? Printer" issue came up is with a client that requires their employee's to first print ALL printouts to a Spool printer, that is assigned to each Employee. Then the Employee prints from their own Spool printer to a specific Laser printer. One printout would be in "Portrait" the next printout might be in "Landscape", and so on. Using the "? Printer" concept seemed to be an easy solution, until I ran into the "Printer Properties" not getting passed at the time of the printout.
I also ran a little test:
I changed my program to include the "SetOrientation = 2"(Landscape).
I then printed the report to a Spool Printer.
I was able to View the printout and it showed in Landscape mode. When Viewing this report, I also noticed what appeared to be "control codes"(single characters), on the first two(2) lines of the first page.
However, when I tried to print this report to a Laser printer, NO printout is produced.
Is the Spool Printer supposed to pass the "printer control codes"?
