This is something in Windows that has bugged me for some time. Just because we can create an edit control with password input does not mean that it should be used all the time. I notice in winzip (version 10) that you can indicate whether you want the password obfuscated or not. I agree with Steve -- the password property is not necessary and in fact counter productive in this case.
