QSPOOL is the main program. QSPOOL2 does the printing. Don't know what QSPOOL3 and QSPOOL4 do. At the top of the QSPOOL screen is the version number. Current version is 06.01. Just start from your version and work forward.
You could also try a total clean up of the directory, SPL I presume, after hours.
1) save everything on SPL, there might be a #SPOOL file somewhere else
2) empty SPL including the QDIR files
3) create new QDIR's (the DIRINIT option in Qtilities)
4) reinitialize the spoolers (SP1-SPx) by running QSPOOL, set your defaults
5) move spool files (00000001.SP1) etc back to the SPL directory. In QSPOOL, manually add them back into the appropriate spooler
