A number of years ago, I purchased two 933 Mhz dual cpu pc's as a Novell and Windows server. In my findings, Comet never ran on both cpu's at the same time. there was O/S software that performed load balancing and it would never load balance comet across two cpu's. with today's quad cpu's I would imagine the same to be true. why no speed increase?? a 2.6 ghz pc can run no faster then a 2.6 ghz pc, no matter how many cpu's you have. It can just handle many, many more processes without slowing down... why have quad cpu's then?? the future planners out there are gearing up to run possibly thousands of processes on a single multi-core pc. what those processes are, is beyond me... think services, virus protection, monitoring, multi-operating systems (vmware, google it), yadda, yadda, yadda.. the powers that be want staying power to run a ton of stuff...
