Jim work's and my testing of a eFaxPtr sending to the MS Fax Server didn't work out. The ability to control the fax and determine the destination look of the document was just not working properly.
Someone mentioned eFax.com and two days ago I signed up for a trial of their Pro version. It included voice mail too. I'm looking at replacing my 2nd landline at $35/mo for their $20/mo service. There's a second company called MaxEmail that I didn't discover until yesterday that I'm may have to try too.
So far, incomming from eFax has worked and I recieve faxes (PDF) and voice mail (WAV) in Outlook (I switched from their default file formats). The interface is a mix of local and web. When you change something on the web, you have to click an update button in the client software. Fails about 50% of the time and you have to try again.
The setup process was done via a web chat. Big mistake. The operator set up the account with my personal name and phone and not with the business name and phone. And she set the wrong time setting(Seychelles instead of Pacific).
Email support is poor (level -1) and phone support is via a long distance call and level 0 at best.
I've done three installs and two uninstalls. The uninstalls were unnecessary because support didn't understand the problem. I fixed it myself. I pushed through a bunch of error prompts until I got to the options menu.
Right now I waiting for an email to tell me how to customize my cover sheet. Help says there's a "Cover Sheet" entry in "File". It's not there.

There are a number of fax only services that look to be better. Some even say "... is not affiliated with eFax.com" :)
Because they all use an email client, addressed as 16195551212@efaxsend.com, would this be a better way to go to add faxing to Comet.
