If your pc can resolve the name to an IP address then Grants example will work.
There are a few of ways for your network to be doing name resolution.
Name resolution can become a rather lengthy discussion.

In days past you could ping acct25 and see if you get a response.
Windows XP SP2 Firewall blocks ping by default so you may need to enable pinging as an exception or temporarily disable the firewall on the CA Host system if it is running.

c:\>ping qsrv32q
Pinging QSRV32q [192.168.1.18] with 32 bytes of data:

As the above response shows an IP address the name was resolvable.

The following shows an unresovable name
c:\>ping qsrv32
Ping request could not find host qsrv32. Please check the name and try again.

The computer name can be found under... (for XP)
Right Click "My Computer"
Select Properties from pop up menu.
Under System Properties, Select the "Computer Name" tab
You will see the "full computer name" listed (use it without the period at the end)

You can also get to System Properties by going to Control Panel and choosing the SYSTEM Icon.

Sometimes name resolution requires the use of a FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name)
Which is just the Computername.DomainName
as shown in System Properties.
