When Windows goes into standby, it shuts down the network card. We found in our testing that when a user had her Comet screen up and then left her desk for some time, after coming back to Comet, she got an error 9b.
The current implementation of CfamNetServe keeps a "back link" open to each workstation so it can communicate status changes such as qdir changes back to applications such as Comet Explorer. This back link is also used to determine when a user disconnects without properly logging out. CfamNetServe polls the workstation every 30 seconds if no activity is observed. This is what killed our user. 30 seconds after going into standby, her network connection to CometServe was broken.
We are working on alternatives to this, but in the meantime, be aware that when a workstation goes into standby, Comet will surely disconnect.
