Jon Sacks just explained to me that a Gateway is not like other Comet devices. It connects to one user at a time. It's not at all like a printer or a data file or even like T00.
It seems that if a program opens a Gateway, apparently any Gateway, that program has exclusive ownership of that Gateway until that program closes the Gateway.
I don't think I understood that and the documentation .....
Jon understands this and he configured a gaggle of Winsock gateways so users can send email concurrently.
And I did not know that Gateways socialize in gaggles.
