Record hanging

Hello,
I have a question regarding a record in a file I have. Throughout the system we are not doing any extracts. Only read, write, inquire, and key functions. I am using Comet 2003 version 329, ced 0101, utl 0307, and rel 0308. My program is hanging on a record, it is not extracted, the status is a user exception 33. Not sure what to do. Do you need any more information?
