Every update program, I LOCK all important files. EXCP=7, test for it. Old school, have a TERM$ value that can be tested upon. If you get sloppy in your SYSGEN and multiple workstations have the same TERM$, then your job is difficult. Consider using TERM$, PARTITION$ and NODE NAME as a tracking mythology with a date/time stamp.
