Thanks for the suggestions.

1) QDIR's are like death and taxes :)
2) I used the log file at one customer and it was always too much overhead. Gleaned out 1 useful tidbit in three years. With everything bigger and faster thjese days it might be a worth another look.
3) User was in password protected manager menu so the number of culprits is limited.

I "know" who did it. I just don't have absolute proof. It was an error by a manager substituting for a departed manager.
