Just a comment from designers from yesteryear. Once upon a time, there where 6,40,80 even 400 meg disc drives that weighed and cost a ton. Software had to be designed to minimize data storage because storage space was simply not there. Back then, used the good old reel-to-reel tape drive and made attempts to label and store a library of 12 inch tapes. The cost of a reel-to-reel tape and lots of tapes plus storage and managing was BIG. Hell, now you got $40 4 Gig USB Flash. So much for my laptop, don't need one unless it's a prolonged business trip. If an operator entered it, I'm keeping it. Helps protect my butt too. Since disc storage in the TERA range is starting to take place, I store ALL History!! All details, every journal, register, everything!! ALL the details!! Without regard to storage!! This has allowed me to write programs for my clients that include INQUIRY, REPORTING, EXPORTING, VERIFICATION and if need be BACK DATING capability. To go back in time and fix something you've only discovered today.. Dam, wouldn't that be nice!! Take another look!! Not just log files.. Expand!! It's worth it.. One last plug, does this work on WINDOWS 98?? AAHHH!!
