Spent 9 hours working on Symantec's ENDPOINT SECURITY version 11.0. First time working with this release. It's drastically different form version 10.2 and that's not, bad but it requires a fresh start. Performed/had the following:

#1. Made a small, separate network. One XP PC to act as the ENDPOINT Server and a laptop to act as the client. Totally
disconnected from my normal office network.

#2. Installed ENDPOINT Manager (Server) on XP Pc (a raid 5, 1.5 tera-byte pc). Was successful..

#3. Uninstall any previous versions of Symantec Anti-virus software.
Easy on laptop, TERA Server PC was another story. During uninstall on server, had to install ISS. It required me to
to load the XP Pro CD to proceed. After a few working moments, it couldn't find a number of DLL's, etc. To make a
long story short, under Windows Software Uninstall, it can get confused and NOT find DLL's and other files on the XP
Pro CD. Found a blog that simply states, eject the CD and re-insert it. This solved my problem. (2.5 hours to
figure this out.

#4. Tried to push, from server to client, ENDPOINT Client to LAPTOP client. Kept getting stuck on Admin login on client.
I'm devoting time to figure this out tommorrow.

#5. Decided to load UNMANAGED ENDPOINT to laptop client. Was successful.

#6. Tried to make client find/search/locate Server. Nothing there..

#7. Tried to make server find/search/locate client. Nothing there, needs more reseach in both directions.

#8. LIVEUPDATE: There's LIVEUPDATE Server and Client. Two separate pieces of software. LIVEUPDATE installed on client
with no problems. LIVEUPDATE Server was another story. On the Server, it requires the latest JAVA and this took
another hour. JAVA update was 90 meg. After installing JAVA, time to quit. Tommorrow is another day..

#9. Goal for tommorrow. How to push updates from server to client. How to use LIVEUPDATE on Server to push Virus
Definitions to client. Rather than have all clients do separate LIVEUPDATES, do one LIVEUPDATE via Server and update
local clients. This speeds virus definition upgrades, which occur often. Sometimes every day...
