I too have been desirous of a mechanism that does not produce a messagebox. I have attached a file containing an executable that kills programs and a batch file demonstrating its use. I keep a shortcut on my desktop to this batch file. It completely cleans up and resets all Comet Components. When debugging, I intentionally crash Comet multiple times a day.

You should modify the bat file to kill cosw only for CometAnywhere clients. As you can imagine, restarting the services takes a bit of time.
