Sorry, but I don't think I understand any of the response and what to do.
But first, my application works perfectly to move to any alias I have set up within my environment (i.e. no anywhere client).
My response:
The only difference is the alias is not one created by comet, but rather one you created yourself.
What does this mean? I went into edit/directory alias and create the alias on the client machine (diralias.jpg).
On the client, check the directory alias and make sure you can create files on it using windows
I can create files in this directory using a windows program (localfile.jpg).
Second, try to copyfile to it using the full path instead of a directory alias
Here is the result (same result):
Copy Failed of C:\COMET\EBW\OSUM.TXT To c:\comet\local\osum.txt
Copy Failed, Function Error: 22-Destination file error (see suberror)
FileError: 3-Path not found
Third, try a copyfile to a system controlled alias instead of the one you created
The copy to CATEMP resulted in the comet host putting the file in the CATEMP directory on the host, not on the client.
It's as if it just never gets the alias from the client, it is just trying to use the alias on host, hence the path not found, the path is not the host path but the client path.
Copy file needs to ask the client for the path not ask the host for the path, correct?
What I want is a standard way to have a client establish local directories as a repository for system created files, I will tell them then need to create a (or several) static alias on the client and reports and/or programs are coded to use the aliases, this way we have a seamless way of delivering data to remote systems.
Am I missing something?
