I think the best place to look for error reports is the Comet Startup Details file on the CA host. If you want this log file written to disk (as opposed to just being in memory while Comet is running), you can start Comet with a "/LOG" command line parameter, COSC will copy all log events to a disk file named ProfileName.log, where ProfileName is whatever your host's profile name is. You'll find the file in the folder where Comet is loaded from. If you're using Comet.exe (you should be) rather than CosW.exe, remember this folder will be your CA host's Windows user's temp folder not the folder where you installed Comet.
