If you can't find any non-Comet apps that might be accessing the Comet files, you'd better check all the configuration files for your users. If by chance one of them is trying to access a Comet directory as any type other than "C" you could get yourself into this kind of trouble. As a matter of fact, don't you have an app that creates writes qdir entries? I'd start by checking the cfig file of that node. Maybe someone has a shortcut pointing to an old .cfg file.
