Jim and I tried to reproduce your problem by testing our theory that another user Comet coming in using Remote Desktop could cause this. We did see problems! We didn't get the Err 33s but we did get lots of qdir cache refresh messages. We verified that this was because there were 2 copies of CFileSrv.exe running at the same time. We are going to see if we can prevent this from happening. In the meantime, please check to see if your users are doing something like this. This could be a big problem.
