My DHCP server is still an ancient Windows one.
I have not noticed any problem with Comet related to DHCP renewal.
So I would tend to think that "Windows DHCP disconnecting clients during renewal" is probably not happening.
As Jim requested, really need more info on what the DHCP server is.
As Grant said Normally a DHCP will let you keep the same IP address you already have, thus the connection never drops.
Perhaps there is a DHCP option to force a client to get a different IP address each renewal.
I have not yet found anything mentioning any such option.
