I have this 100+ users installation running on a Novell 4.11 server. No major change have been done recently to either software nor Comet release. But since Dec 24th, everyonce in a while Comet Help freezes for a period of a few seconds to a few minutes (up to about 15). I finaly got to find the offending line of code. It's a line in XNOVA that says:
CLOSE (6) & OPEN (6) "#NOVA", EXCP=9000
Well beleive it or not, the nodes simply locks up at the OPEN with no reason, PSTAT shows EXCP=00 Last Function=03.
Obviously my 1st steo was to re-build the directory (SEC) and rebuild the #NOVA file - no Help.
I tried a coredump and the file does not even show on the dump, nor does the SEC directory...
On my machine I have 36 directories accessed at all times and the coredump shows only 16 directories for the whole organisation.
I am at a loss.... dunno where to look and my already backloged operators are going nuts trying to serve our clientele with a deficient help system - No lookup, No user notes, no nothin'
I'm running CometServeNLM 2.69 on a Novell 4.11 server with SP9
Stations are running mix of Comet 2000 build 308 and Comet 2002 Build 311.
This is a new problem that only been happening for a few days... anybody got a clue?
