We had a similar problem when we were running Netware with the Windows 2000 or XP client. The solution in our case was simple - we had a programming running in a backround partition on the node that simply opened and closed a file on the server every x number of minutes. This would solve the problem with Netware "forgetting" about our connection.

We had been using Netware for over 10 years before making the move to the Windows based Cometserve. If its at all feasible, consider an eventual move to a Windows 2000 class server. We have found the speed and stability of the Cometserve32 product to be well worth it. In addition, 99% of our client headaches went away with the move to Windows. Highly recommended.
