I've done it in another application language and basically you would have an initial username/password screen. If it's valid, you send user browser a temporary cookie (lasts as long as browser is kept running - I guess, you could also use more permanent cookies too). This allows them to open all the html pages in the browser without having to enter username/password for every page they view (ie. customer master, a/r inquiry, order status).

Keith, I kind of misunderstood your demo story. Why bring the server to your client. If it's an eComet demo, couldn't you just connect to it from client site?

Kind of off topic, but how secure is eComet? Would a packet sniffer see data or does it get encrypted? Will it work with SSL certificates?
