After a half demo because of what I've already blogged, here's what I got. Instead of receiving phone call, personal reception and ordering info the old way, you know BICARSA and custom built accounting systems, have the public build the Customer Master, enter Cash Receipts, etc. You're taking file maintenance from closed to wide open. ID robbery? As for the Customer Maintenance routine, here's the questions I've been asked. Customer changes e-mail address? Customer changes local address? Customer can change ANYTHING? Security, procedure and accuracy?? Can any customer change another customer's info because they know their account number. Needs lots consideration!! I'm at this stage. Everywhere you look, it's user ID and password in order to access a service. Well, I'm developing a service and this has to be addressed... Competition is suggesting CLOUD with a healthy annual charge. I'm suggesting that the client buy the app from me for a one time charge, no renewable annual fees. Develop from there, it's cheaper. Forces me to stay on my toes. Incentive for me and the client. Lot's of you might disagree with this business model, but the world is a B__tch..
