Jim, can't tell from you typing if there is sarcasm here, the point was we need to create fix programs every time to do this. Development is done on one system then we update the CFILES when we are ready to put the new programs into place and a utility that shifted the data based on the inserted field (like a new secondary key we want following the primary key) would be helpful.

When you can figure out how to eliminate include files so the data is updated to the database via server then we would not have to worry about updating includes and re-compiling. Yes I am spoiled by Oracle. I add a field or an index and in seconds millions of records are updated and I do not change any code or re-compile a program.
