We have been working on the install process for Comet on Microsoft Vista. As you possibly know, under Vista, by default, each program runs without administrative privileges. This is fine for Comet except for one small exception. A normal user cannot register a COM object. Comet will install correctly, and seem to run just fine. Then, when attempting to run Comet Explorer, the process bombs out with a "class not defined" error.
What is happening is that Comet.exe copies Cometlib.dll to your temp folder and then tries unsuccessfully to register it as a COM object. The solution to this is to add an additional step to your install process: Run Comet just ONCE as administrator. Right click on the Comet icon on the desktop and select "Run as Administrator". This will allow Comet to successfully register CometLib in the temp folder. From that point on, you may run Comet with regular privileges without a problem.
This tip applies to Windows 7 as well whenever it comes out.
Each file can be a maximum of 1MB in length Uploaded files will be purged from the server on a regular basis.
