Already replaced legacy F1/Help years ago. Wrote a library that allows me to do data lookup in about 20 lines of code (read that as modify 20 lines of codes).

True the look/feel is very much DOS-like but it supports cursor keys (PgUp/Down and All Arrows).

It also allows for filters (like to select only active/non-zero records).

Even have a version that allows printing the resulting search results.

What I say, is, if you don't find the provided tools to your liking, you can always enhance them. The sources are available!

Sometimes I read posts here from some of you guys and I wonder why do you rely so much on the great people at Signature to do all the work for you. They supply us with a platform and some basic tools, Why can't we all work together from there. We are the programmers, they are the O/S maker.

Can't we, as a community, put our two cents worth together... Not for just pushing suggestions but also provide solutions?

At this point I am thinking we all need to work together... Lets form an open-source community where all of us can contribute to specific projects.

I'm starting a new thread... read on in "The Comet Open-Source Community"
