Nice write-up, but I did my Vista stint. I'll enjoy your write-ups in the future. No Windows 7 beta going on here. Microsoft MUST do the driving this time around. If there were 3rd party software and driver issues upgrading to Vista, than the same still exists for XP to 7. In a way, it wasn't MS's fault. Hardware vendors didn't want to update 4+ year old device drivers to operate on Vista. They wanted you to buy new stuff. I suspect a sales game of chicken was going on attempting to ride MS's coat tails. MS must guide end users. Develop something that tells the end-user whether their devices are Vista/7 compliant. If not, guide them to a solution and be honest. Not let the end-user find the solution and suffer frustration after frustration. My high speed Genicom form printer, HP scanner, Symantec and camera were not compatible with Vista. Was it me messing up installing Vista? No it wasn't and I spent a lot of wasted time figuring that out.
