QREPORTS does try to run RpgExit when you tab out. If not it would run qmonitor and I'd get complaints that users had to re-enter their passwords. This is consistent with the old Reporter.

As far as the error message you're getting when running QREPORTS, you need to know that QREPORTS looks for a message in COMMON. You should CLEARCOMMON before doing the RUN and you'll be all set.
