I understand completly, just an issue of it being inconsistant. This came up becuase a report was printing to TMP that happed for that user to be c:\documents and setting\user name\blah\blah\comet\catemp (this is where you put it if not specified explicitly in the ini file) since TMP is configured in the .ini file as 08 = C,$(catemp).

The Launch in the report was to C:\comet\tmp which is where it should have been established when the client was set up.

Since the IT Tech did not manually change the Dir Alias to the c:\comet\tmp we were getting a copyfile error on the source file (since comet was looking in the wrong place).

I was only suggesting that there was an opportunity to be consitant on the placement of a file by using the Dir Alias in the Printer statement vs. using the directory name.

The issue actually stems us not being able to easily manage the physical location of catemp on the client, so we are now coding reports to use the Dir Alias in place of the literal path for output that is destined to TMP.
